:: Spotlight :: Sony Tropfest 2007 competition

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Sony Tropfest has announced that SNEEZE has been selected as the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) to be included in all entries for the 2007 competition. John Polson, Founder and Creative Director of the festival, said that this TSI may be the most challenging to date:

“For something different this year, we wanted to make the requirement an action, instead of the usual object. ‘Sneeze’ will encourage people to think laterally about how they use the TSI and hopefully have some fun with it. I‘m sure audiences around the country will thoroughly enjoy the different ways filmmakers incorporate 'Sneeze’ into their films.”

Note: Entries close Thursday, January 11, 2007

Essential guidelines are as follows:

- Each film must be made specifically for Sony Tropfest 2007

- Sony Tropfest 2007 must be your film's first public screening

- Each film must be no longer than 7 minutes including titles and credits

- Each film must contain the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) for 2007 - SNEEZE!

Please visit the official website for more details.

The official Call For Entries period will begin in November 2006 and entry forms will be made available at this time, although many filmmakers have already commenced production.
