:: Spotlight :: Starlight Cinema 2007By: Carmine PascuzziOne of the best things about a Sydney summer is watching the latest and greatest movies under the stars. Jill Keyte, producer of Starlight Cinema said, “There is a big demand for outdoor events on Sydney’s North Shore. We are bringing Starlight Cinema back bigger and better this year with venues in North Sydney, Warriewood and the Hunter Valley. We’re excited by the passion our audience and sponsors have for our event.” Starlight Cinema is the biggest and best outdoor cinema for those living and working on the North Shore (and those brave enough to cross the bridge)! It caters for everyone who loves doing it under the stars! The North Sydney season kicks off with Toni Collette’s smash hit, Little Miss Sunshine on February 7, and at Warriewood on January 17, 2007. The season includes blockbusters The Departed and Kenny, family favourites Charlotte’s Web and Eragon, cults The Princess Bride and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and for those in love, Volver and A Good Year. Experience the ultimate date night on Valentine’s Day, see the latest romantic hit The Holiday and share a hamper with the one you love. Even better, be treated like a star in Star Class. In the Star Class VIP area, chill out in a deck chair, enjoy a hamper and waiter service under a sea of stars. The alfresco Dining Terrace offers the quintessential summer barbeque with Hungerford Hill wines, Bluetongue Beer and Grinders Coffee. Each night of the week has a movie night theme; laugh through Wild Wednesday; see all the blockbusters on Thursday; fabulous family Flicks on Friday; Summer Lovin’ for date night Saturdays and Starlight Sundays features cult favourites. Bring a blanket, hire a backrest or sit in one of the covered stands, with the gates and Dining Terrace open from 7pm each night. Tickets are available online for $15 or from the gate each night for $20.
