The Australian Premiere for the new British film ‘The Boat That Rocked’ was staged at the Village Cinemas at Crown Melbourne. Three of the stars flew to Australia for the premiere event, Nick Frost, Bill Nighy and Rhys Darby. The pre-screening party was aptly staged on the Crown Riverside and with an abundance of colour, the three British actors arrived on the Red Carpet from a rocking boat and greeted by promotional models and the media.

The film is the newest ensemble comedy from Richard Curtis (Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Love Actually). It is set on the high seas in the swinging 1960s and follows the antics of a pirate radio station intent on bringing rock music to Britain, because of the confinements of existing radio. Set to some of the greatest music of all time, The Boat That Rocked is a feel-good story about love and friendship and how breaking the rules was an important breakthrough for music.
