This is the debut album from this Sydney band. The packaging grabs your eye with its eclectic artwork and the fact that it’s the first CD, to my knowledge, that is double-sided; bringing CD audio on one side and the DVD video feature on the other. The listener gets great value with the added “making of” movie and contextual imagery for several songs. It all enhances what the listener might want to get from a CD listening experience. This whole aspect of communicating has been an important segment for The Honey Palace’s arrival and they deliver a fine rock album. Songs such as “Freedom Child” and “World Song” contain thought-provoking thoughts and it’s typical of the philosophic verve that the writing achieves. Human experiences are thoroughly explored and identified to produce this fascinating set. Overall, the creativity and originality shown impress me and The Honey Palace offers something to be excited about in the future.
