Abi had been chomping at the bit to move into recording some songs, after an acting stint on various projects over the past few years. It’s been somewhat of an in-between exercise. Various influences show up on her debut solo release. She has co-written with several people including well-known Melbourne songwriter Phil Buckle (on the tracks “Little By Little” and “Perfect Day”). Abi has a big voice that complements Phil’s guitar playing well. With her other songwriters, Abi adopts some funky and programmed sounds. “Love Is Made” shows this funky flair. It’s quite an interesting listen to see Abi’s vocals and soaring melodies reach out with its share of attitude amongst her interpretations of what life has meant for her.
