:: Alex Lloyd - Alex Lloyd

Alex Lloyd

I’d say Alex Lloyd was trying to say something to his listeners when he decided his new album would be self titled. Perhaps achieving what he has often touted as being one of his life long goals - having a family - helped Lloyd to finally be able to define his music as being part of himself. Or at least, enough of himself to be able to lend his name to it. I have to admit that after listening to one of Lloyd’s first releases ‘Lucky Star’ a few million times as a teenager, I never really got back into him again. His hit single ‘Amazing’ bypassed me as did ‘Chase the Sun.’ Yet, after listening to his latest offering, I am happy to say I have come full circle and I am a now a proud rejuvenated Alex Lloyd fan. Stand out track ‘Holding On’ describes love at its most powerful, clearly for the latest additions to his family, the song is an honest offering where Lloyd is generously offering his inner most feelings to his listeners. ‘Brand New Day’ is a comforting track about starting over and like all the tracks on his album, Lloyd finds the rational way to restore faith in what life has to offer. Loyal Alex fans will be more than happy with his latest offering, while it would be safe to say the brilliance of the album, along with some steady airplay, will attract a much wider audience than before.
