Alice Russell has been spoken about as the next big female voice in music. Well, she certainly produces a dynamic presence in this set of songs. Even Massive Attack has earmarked her as a future vocalist for them. I believe that Alice will command centre stage in her own right because of her individual quality and flair. Right now, the ingredients to hold her status high remain in the quality of the songs. This album isn't totally consistent, although there are several gorgeous moments in her handling of various moods and styles. It is simply a matter of settling into something that will hopefully win over the masses. However, she is the real deal as far as vocal capability is concerned. Watch for Alice in her Australian tour with the Quantic Soul Orchestra in November.
