:: Alyce Platt - Beautiful DeathAlyce PlattAlthough known for her time in television, paintings, and stage work, Alyce has been writing songs from a young age. This is the first time that she’s released a CD, and she does a decent job in providing an adventurous foray through her honest and melancholic musical thoughts. It’s a collection of material spanning several years. The songs are mostly told with positive feeling and the hope for better things. Alyce worked on the album with Glenn Lewis (ex-Violetine) and cellist Kathryn McKee. It’s well produced, yet the creativity is unlikely to endure commerciality. However, this CD will surprise people with perception of her talent and ability. With the folk soundscapes and organic guitar and beats, this is good listening when in the right frame of mind. |
