Amiel is well remembered for her top hit 'Addicted To Bass’. A hit single in ‘Love Song’ and a well received album proved her popularity, but it has been a while since we have heard from her in an independent fashion. ‘Be Your Girl’ marks her return, and it is a triumphant one at that. The single has a strong dance presence somewhat reminiscent of her debut outing. A thumping, edgy beat acts as a tempting invitation to all to get up and move your body. The other EP tracks are equally as impressive, namely ‘Expectations’ which takes it down a few notches and acquaints us with an Amiel who is as fragile as she is intoxicating. The track is an excellent mix of Amiel’s light and airy vocals contrasted against the coarseness of a rap provided by guests Savage and Mareko. Overall, the single is a promising snapshot of things to come, and I look forward to the next instalment.
