:: Amy Winehouse - Back To BlackAmy WinehouseAmy Winehouse is one of the music revelations of 2007 and a breath of fresh air. I had read about Amy over a period of time in a men's magazine who thought she shaped up well, in more ways than one. However, her musical ability is uncanny and addictive. There has been a recent breed of young female singers putting their stamp on old sounds, particularly in the sultry jazz department. Amy has her very unique and entertaining style - together with a whiff of humour and a pinch of soul - that should endear her to many music lovers. Songwriting is a key component of the Amy Winehouse make-up. She admits herself that she needs this outlet and she expresses herself imaginatively. The female empowerment of “Me And Mr Jones” and the spiritual-sounding “Rehab” are bursting with pride and sets out to eradicate the demons that have spooked her in the past. My favourite track is “You Know I'm No Good”, which is simply irresistible for her charm and charisma. This album should set Amy up on a path to international stardom and is sure to feature in my best of this year. | ![]() http://www.amywinehouse.co.uk |
