:: Arcade - Into The Light

Arcade

This is an all-girl band from Indiana and there is great enthusiasm displayed here. The passionate Carrie Conley, the lead vocalist, assembled the group. Good punk-rock styling attract attention. They bring simple, no-gimmicks, levels of musicianship to short, sharp songs – all the ingredients for a punk act. The vocals are not all angry and feisty. Things get slightly mellower on a couple of tracks and the fast, frenetic action brings Arcade to another level again. Therefore, they bring energy and good time, eclectic fun to this CD, my first listen to the indie band. Carrie is an honest songwriter with flair and she brings a likeness to most of the tracks here. Keep an open mind and this capable young band will impress you with a captivating sound. Seeing them live would probably enhance the appeal in reliving some of the 80s all-female punk-pop sounds. But this is a new band in a new time, and one that should be encouraged. A fine debut album. It can be purchased through the band’s website
