:: The Asteroids Galaxy Tour - Fruit

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

If you’re a fan of electronic music then Danish group The Asteroids Galaxy Tour’s debut album ‘Fruit’ should certainly be on the very top of your wish list. Make no mistake the psychedelic retro sound of this group will make them big stars, and any fan of this genre will quickly fall in love with Mette Lindberg’s vocals. Lindberg’s vocals are a standout. On the opening track ‘Lady Jesus’ they hit you straight away…but be warned if you didn’t like the unusual stylings of Macy Gray then you certainly won’t be impressed here. ‘The Sun Ain’t Shining No More’ sees a quick trip back to early disco while it is again Lindberg’s vocals that shine through on ‘Push The Envelope’ and ‘Satellite’ making them catchy little numbers that are guaranteed to get stuck in your head. The jazz stylings of group member Lars Iverson are there for all to hear on the slowed down ‘Crazy’ while the infectious nature of ‘The Golden Age’ will have you humming along straight away. The very commercial ‘Around The Bend’ is all ready out there for you to hear and it is very close to being the best track on the album. I say very close because believe it or not the best track is in fact the track listed as ‘the bonus track’, ‘Inner City Blues’… you will want to listen to this one over and over. The catchiness of the album returns with ‘Sunshine Coolin’’ while a big brass sound shines through on the very slow ‘Hero’. ‘Bad Fever’ is an explosion of sound that again works thanks to some amazing vocals from Lindberg. This has been a slow year for electronica but ‘Fruit’ well and truly makes up for that. Given time I can see The Asteroids Galaxy Tour becoming as big as The Chemical Brothers.
