:: At Sea - Malfunctioning TeleprompterAt SeaThis is the second album from this Melbourne band and, despite the interesting title, they communicate their thoughts well in song. The listener will enjoy this indulgence as the acoustic bluesy influences take hold effectively and inspiringly. With members of the band coming from the able Machine Translations, their musical experience lays the foundations for something innovative and challenging. Above all, they have fun doing it. It covers several bases before the epic finale of a thirteen-minute closing track, “…But Not That Cold”. So much is heard within the album that it may unsettle those looking for a particular style to settle into. When you get song titles like “World Cup 2002”, “My Vote For A Fascist State”, and “Your Collarbone Is Extending”, one’s curiosity is aroused. |
