:: Avenged Sevenfold - Seize The Day

Avenged Sevenfold

California’s Avenged Sevenfold may look like they are fresh out of the Nuevo goth punk marketing program ie: ‘dress in black, sleeve tattoos’, however; they do have a genuinely distinctive pure straight ahead hard rock sound and reputation. This track, ‘Seize The Day’ taken from the bands major label debut ‘City of Evil’ comes complete with melodic verse chorus verse and a classic bona fide guitar solo; it’s a loving nod to good Guns ’n’ Roses and hard edge power ballads. Citing influences from Iron Maiden to Elvis Costello, Avenged Sevenfold are a fresh metallic noise in the current wave of the many look-alike bands such as Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance et al which seem to spend more time on the mainstream side of emo friendly rock than hard edged rock.
