Avril, Avril, Avril. She made a big splash about 2-3 years back with that irritating text message song, ‘Sk8er Boi’ and as all the young, impressionable teenage girls copied her abysmal “marketing” image (long socks, daggy shoes and tattered tees all worn with a tie), she seemed to disappear almost as quickly. The puppeteers pulling her strings realised a makeover was in order if they were to sell any of her new records. And so, to phase 2! The mature, brooding adolescent. Despite the fact ‘Under My Skin’ has already been released once, the “string pullers” have seen it fit to unload the same, tired package by re-wrapping it in a nice new bow! Even though this album is a slightly more interesting proposition, it's the same dull and lifeless songs we've already heard before - it just simply includes a bonus DVD, (In an excited voice): with never seen before behind the scenes footage, interviews, live performances and video clips! Wowee!! Who gives a toss? Seriously! Avril's never been one for insightful interviews or cutting edge film clips has she? So again, WHO CARES! Oh and by the way, the same teenage girls who thought Avril was just “Hot and like… so it,” are now well into their late teens and prefer boys, binge drinking and sex.
