:: Ben TD - Tiny MovementsBen TDOne listen to Ben TD’s ‘Tiny Movements’ album and you’ll be boasting to your friends that you’ve found the ‘find’ of the year and telling them that ‘they just have to listen to this’. This is one amazing album that showcases just how good Australian singer/songwriters can be. ‘Tiny Movements’ is Ben TD’s debut feature solo album and, believe me, it is an absolute masterpiece. The opening track, ‘A Steady Rain’ is a simple acoustic pop track that showcases Ben TD’s amazing voice; this is seriously a voice that makes you stop what you are doing and listen. The smooth pop sound continues with ‘The Science Of Breathe’ while ‘Yes I Am A Skyscraper’s Window Cleaner’ has a distinct Paul Kelly feel to it while the beautiful lyrics of ‘Leaves’ will be lapped up by those who love artists such as Josh Pyke. Ben TD’s talents as a songwriter are there for all to see on the very smooth ‘Greatest Guitar Gods’; which is also made up of an amazing melody while the poetic piano driven ‘Books And Boats’ once again showcases his brilliant voice. ‘Lily’ is a great track with some of the most truthful lyrics I have ever heard, while ‘Once For The Dust’ is a beautiful acoustic track with lyrics that border on the country genre… a terrific listen. One of the best tracks to be found here is ‘A Place Now’ which reveals such how good of a songwriter Ben TD is… I could listen to this song on repeat a hundred times and still hear something new in it each time, this is followed up by another great track… the haunting ‘My Skylight’. ‘A Tiny Movement’ is delivered with meaning while ‘Shoes Too Small’ is a clap-along pop song. The album then ends on a great note, with the smooth sound of ‘San Francisco’. This is one hell of an album and I get the feeling it is going to get quite a work out on my stereo. Ben TD is an amazing singer/songwriter and lets hope we hear a lot more from him. | ![]() http://www.myspace.com/bentdmusic |
