:: Bittersuite - Open Windows Closed DoorsBittersuiteHere is one album with a difference. Two young female talents, Emma Dean and Georgia Weber, are classically trained musicians from Queensland. Their gifts merge uniquely to create this vibrant, endearing set of songs. With thoughtful songwriting and captivating voices, this act needs encouragement. The influences reach far and wide, including jazz and folk, and there is a sense of theatre and atmosphere about their music. For those familiar with the very talented Candian performer Ember Swift, you might notice some similarities. Piano and strings are evident throughout (Emma plays violin and Georgia plays double bass) and they interchange instruments occasionally to bare their souls for the audience. Bittersuite dares to differ and explore boundaries with a bold sound. I found this album quite enthralling at certain moments and the enthusiasm and passion displayed gives them an opportunity to progress, should they continue their development. |
