:: The Black Keys - Rubber Factory

The Black Keys

Two young high school dropouts from Nowheresville USA (Akron, Ohio), Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have come up trumps with this one. A self recorded and produced mish-mash of dirty blues authenticity and unabashed rock n rolling, “Rubber Factory” sees The Black Keys howl and growl their way through a veritable chunk of authenticity that positively aches. As most acts do, The Black Keys began unassumedly. Two years ago, two boys cutting lawns pooled their cash, jumped in a hatchback and started a series of cross country venturing/touring that, as their music caught on, took them further and further afield. Their second album “Thickfreakness” was recorded in half a day, but the punters loved it and it all started to pay off. Their third album in as many years, “Rubber Factory”, is a disgustingly effective slab of raw emotion. Indeed, it’s an absolute pearler of an effort.
