:: The Black Keys - 10am AutomaticThe Black Keys10am automatic gives a sample of the black keys, a studio version of 10am automatic, then three songs recorded at Melbourne’s Prince of Wales Hotel in 2003. They are a bit different, kind of blues-rock, only utilising guitar and drums. Some live recordings (one of my personal favourites being Michael Franti’s “Live at the Baobab”) there is a kind of special vibe that comes through, not as good as being there, but a bit of a hint of just how cool it was, that something really special was going on that night. This is not one of those recordings, but the quality is decent enough, and it sounds like it was a fun night. 10am Automatic is definitely listenable, but didn’t really grab me – it seemed to be a bit samey kind of white-boy blues. |
