:: British India - Outside 109 / Automatic Blitzkrieg

British India

This Melbourne band has shown tremendous potential for a couple of years since I was first alerted to them. They’ve been gigging regularly for the last twelve months and they generate raw energy and plenty of angst and endeavour. This double single shows that the confidence and attitude gained over time is starting to pay dividends in terms of the way this has been produced. “Outside 109” functions well in its fiery riff-laden flavour while “Automatic Blitzkrieg”, contrary to what the title might suggest, begins with a blues-infested method before delving into pounding strength, aided by the ferocious vocals of Declan Melia. As this is just a taste of what to expect when an EP becomes due later this year, it’s well worth a listen.
