This is a sweet and sexy self-titled debut album for the gorgeous Cassie. It has some heavyweights on hand to help out too, with the likes of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Ryan Leslie on hand for production duties. It is released on Diddy's Bad Boy label. Cassie has already scored a huge hit with “Me & U”, a beautifully cool, mellow number. The rest of the album offers some laid-back tunes, ballads and midtempo dance jams. Her vocal skills vary as she still develops her art but the playful and lighthearted tunes will win you over. “Long Way 2 Go” shows Ryan Leslie at his best in providing a catchy track composed of a distorted bassline and a high synthesised keyboard - an obvious single too. The album contains whispery piano and effective basslines to create a fresh listening experience. And we also hear from Leslie in a duet with young Cassie on the track “Kiss Me”. He sings well and he also brings an hypnotic sound with perfect clapping. There are several other worthy tracks that make this a well rounded album for such a young and vibrant perofrmer. It should appeal particularly strongly to the young female urban-loving crowd. We'll hear much more from Cassie as her music matures and her talent soars.
