:: Various Artists - Clubbers'Guide to 2009

Various Artists

The good people at Ministry of Sound never fail to give you value for money. Clubber’s Guide 2009 features a triple-CD set of expertly mixed tracks from Stafford Brothers, Aston Shuffle and the talented Bass Kleph. Yes, 55 of the hottest club tracks - tis’ a dance music lovers delight. Obviously a very apt party album, Club Tour delivers some of the best dance tracks of last year. Disc one kicks off with Stafford Brothers remix of The Killers ‘Human’ before taking on Aussie stand outs Empire of the Sun ‘We Are The People’ (let’s face it: This one was already close to perfect) and Lovers Electric ‘Could This Be’. Disc Two remains rather pop-tech-electro with Shuffle remixing some standout tracks like The Presets ‘Yippiyo-ay’ and Santogold ‘Say ah-ha’. Cant listen to ‘Kids’ from MGMT in any other way other than its original – sublime - form but there’ll be plenty of others who enjoy Aston Shuffle’s Kids remix. Bass Kleph is the real winner here, with the Sydney-based DJ, producer and label owner delivering a more trance-like, indie underground feel on Disc 3. Ministry of Sound have become quite the institution these days, churning out albums by the bucket load. But they always feature some of the hottest home-grown DJs in OZ. So put in Clubber’s Guide 2009, reminisce of summer-days-gone-by (and festivals to remember), and take a tour through a dance track dreamland.
