:: The Corrs - Borrowed Heaven

The Corrs

This could be seen as sharply out of character, with big choruses and dashes of electronica. It may be a worthwhile sign of finding new horizons but fans could see it as superficial. If you forget the beats element, the core of The Corrs is the melancholy, heartfelt delivery of songs. Bono wrote “Time Enough For Tears” for the band and it's very striking. Note that the songs were written during some ups and downs in their lives: wedding, births, and their mother's death. One can sense the haunting lyrics in some of the folk-laden tracks. The Corrs always show strong sentiments. Only this time, the influence of electronica dampens their trademark stature because it doesn't add strongly enough to their usual quality. Australian fans can take note that “Miracle” is for Australian release only as a bonus track.
