This hard-working Melbourne band has finally made a big breakthrough this year, and deservedly too. The many live gigs over recent times have meant the fans have warmed to the blistering, ferocious sounds that these guys deliver. The single “Dirty Hearts” has helped things set in motion and the remainder of the album reinforces the belief of how they’ve improved over the last two to three years. Dallas Crane has honed its craft into much tighter outfit. The songwriting growth shows out well with other good tracks to note being “Unlucky Star”, “Out In Space”, and “Ladybird”. Lead singer Dave Larkin is right in his element these days, expressing the confidence and devilish moods to make the band one of the country’s most desirable live acts. The raw, rugged sound that is Dallas Crane looks set to progress further with the zest and spirit in playing to as many people as possible. Accordingly, they’ve scored good support slots in recent times, and will be worth a look on their national tour and in support of The Living End in the coming weeks.
