Another new Melbourne band emerges this year. Four-piece band Dirt River Radio bring one of those rough-edged blues sounds in their debut EP. Etched in guitars and harmonica the band articluate their experiences very well. It's raw and honest, like most new bands, and the good thing is that these guys only formed twelve months ago, leaving much scope for even improved work. The main songwriters are Danger Alexander and Heath Brady and my first impression sees a good partnership that gels well; where they've drawn from past influences to an affecting sound.
