This CD is an all-round winner for those who love chunky groovin’ electro. The disc, mixed by well-known Aussie DJ Ajax, contains a variety of electro superstars, a whole host of whom recently performed at Parklife. The Valentinos, along with Princess Superstar and the Midnight Juggernauts, all have catchy tracks which are cut with something a little different. They are still recognisable but funkier and somewhat fatter. There is a little something extra for 80s fans with a bit of S-Express thrown in with Heart of Glass by Blondie. One of the standout tracks is Lonely By Your Side featuring Johnny Blake, which sounds like an 80’s crooner classic, but rockier with electro infused beats. Princess Superstar‘s 'Perfect’ has also been mashed up nicely and is a good alternative to the radio version. Other tracks are recognisable commercially, but won’t bore the listener because of the various basslines and tweaks which Ajax has fiddled with, giving them a fresh sound. ‘Spin City’ is definitely not a background album and will give any party a definite kick.
