:: Drawn From Bees - And The Blind Shall Lead The WayDrawn From BeesWhen you are drawing praise from one of Australia’s finest radio personalities, Richard Kingsmill you know you are doing something right. That is certainly the case for Brisbane quartet, Drawn From Bees who have delivered a fine album in ‘And The Blind Shall Lead The Way’… an album that only has you complaining about one thing… it sounds so good, yet only has nine tracks… you really, really want to hear more. Drawn From Bees describe themselves as art-rock but most would simply say this is very good experimental rock. ‘Long Teeth Setting Sun’ delivers a terrific melody that will you humming along in no time while the amazing vocals on ‘Frozen Over Kid’ proves that Drawn From Bees are a truly unique sounding band. The experimental side of the band is there for all to see on ‘Waiting For The End’ (which again has brilliant instrumentals and a great harmony) and ‘People (Living Underground) ’ which is so haunting you instantly full in love with it. ‘Amelia’ sees a heavier side to Drawn From Bees, it is catchy and calls upon the sounds of the Manic Street Preachers. The heavier sound continues with ‘These Philistines ’ which consists some amazing guitar riffs. But by far the best track on this album is the very broody ‘They Close The Door.’ ‘And The Blind Shall Lead The Way’ may be a short but sweet album, but this is one that you will find yourself playing over and over again.
