It is a truly fitting tribute to The Easybeats that many established and up-and-coming Australian music artists have gathered to honour the great Australian band of the 1960s. The Easybeats were one of the real success stories that bridged international recognition, particularly with the classic single “Friday On My Mind”. On this collection, there are twenty songs in two discs. Included are a couple of solo Stevie Wright songs: Evie Parts 1, 2 3, that was recorded by an Australian “supergroup” The Wrights in 2004. Amongst the other highlights are renditions of ‘Sorry’ (The Skybombers), ‘She's So Fine’ (Thirsty Merc), ‘Sad And Lonely And Blue’ (Iva Davies) and ‘Wedding Ring’ (Resin Dogs). Ben Lee‘s piano-tinged version of 'Friday On My Mind’ doesn't live up to anything like the original guitar-driven hit while The Veronicas struggle a little with Good Times. However, it's a generally worthy reflection of an iconic Australian musical act.
