ECM is Electronic Counter Measure. It’s a collaboration between long-time friends Gavin Leon and Andrew Brusentsev and the common musical love for them is for a strong groove. The key thereafter was to gain services of others immersed in this interest and able to assist in providing the blend of grooves and pop sensibility. A collective of sorts has been formed, with the fine vocal talent of Amanda Rogers joining in, as well as drummer Hayden Chee and bassist Chris Barraza. I have not seen them live but there have been terrific reports of their live shows around the Sydney regions. This EP resulted from the efforts of Modern Music studios that became very keen in working with ECM. The result is very intense, strong sounds. The shape of the band’s artistry is eclectic and invigorating and I look forward to witnessing their power on the live stage. Much to look forward to.
