Eilera

Eilera is a two-piece outfit comprising French singer-songwriter Eilera (vocals) and Loic Tezenas (guitars). A very colourful vibe and style of metal and electronic influences, it has seen the outfit do much of the production and bringing in guest players of various musical talent. The music delivers the thoughts of freedom and beauty in its expression. This is their first full-length album and it's a fusion of Gothic metal and electronica. The songs have the melancholy atmosphere of Gothic metal (though not much metal is evident), and there are instances of keyboards, samples and drum machines. Add to that the Celtic sounding violins and you have a very diverse and unusual album. Eilera has a pure and strong voice, and sings very dramatically. Eilera has a unique enough sound to stand out from the crowded female-voiced Gothic sounds out there. They probably just need to improve their songwriting to make stronger songs because some of the ingredients are there to work with.
