:: Electric Six - Switzerland

Electric Six

Electric Six’s album “Switzerland” is kooky. This is not in a bad way though; the band’s half electro songs are instead eclectic and kitsch, and electro or rock, a surprising rhythmic beat, such as in “I buy the drugs” resounds in the album. The album is named after their favourite country, in admiration for their neutrality. Yet, the album itself should not be described as neutral - songs are vibrant and singing is strong. In saying that, “Switzerland” would make great ambience, in a way that is vibrant but not over the top, for alternate music lovers. The Detroit band's album, though somewhat odd in its “cool geek projection” aim, leaves you feeling more upbeat than down. Listen for interesting music effects like a xylophone being played from top to bottom. Electric Six pulls the whole thing off well.
