It makes you feel good when you’ve had a year so far which has introduced you to several singer/songwriters around the world. There has been so much enthusiasm generated in my mind, knowing the abundance of talent out there. Emma Rugg is another terrific young performer who, as well as being a wonderful talent in her own right, is entrepreneurial too, in the way she promotes herself and lends support to other artists. Emma is from Hull, England and this is her debut album and she sounds like star quality in the future. Although these songs fill us up with emotion in an acoustic way, Emma indicates an ability to develop other moods in her music. Her versatility won’t place her in a certain genre as she encompasses many things through capable songwriting. It’s hard not to be drawn in by her subtle guitar craft and beautiful voice. Her ability hasn’t been unnoticed, as she is a regular performer in the USA, even having played at James Gandolfini’s (Tony from the Sopranos) restaurant. Emma is certainly a performer to watch.
