Tney haven‘t lost any of their great verve and power but the single 'Long Road To Ruin’ is a mid-tempo rock stomper with no real usual Foo Fighters dynamic in place. Still, there is a certain warmth about the song and its feeling. The slight change in pace gives Dave Grohl to submerge into something sensitive and heartfelt, while his band mates still fire up with distorted guitar and strong drumming. Perhaps sales won't be as high, because of its non ferocious nature, but it won't worry the band unduly.
