If you have ever wondered why bands release compilations of their B-side tracks, have a listen to the latest release from ‘Fourth Floor Collapse’ and the answer will quickly become evident. The actual ingle, ‘Godspeed’, although a shining example of the bands ability to whip any fan into a frothy frenzy, falls short of producing the converting quality a single needs. By this I mean, you want your single to encourage people to want to listen to you more, find out about you and hopefully become a fan. Thankfully for ‘Fourth Floor Collapse’ they have the B-sides to fall back on. The two live tracks, ‘Shot First’ and ‘American’, are full of converting quality and make clear why they have been chosen to support the likes of Counting Crows, Eskimo Joe and You Am I, just to name a few. As a complete package there is lots to admire, and plenty to suggest you should watch this space.
