Michael Franti formed the band Spearhead in 1990. He and the band are truly one of the most talented, influential bands of our time. Michael posseses a liberating power that, through his music, can emit true soul. His lyrics are honest and his cool, laidback voice reminds us how simple and relaxed life can be. With a blend of old school R&B, hip-hop, funk, reggae, folk, jazz, and rock, ‘Yell Fire’ is not to be missed. ‘One Step Closer To You’ and ‘See You In The Light’ are my favorites but the whole album is honestly a great combination of funky beats, meaningful lyrics and a soulful sound. The Live CD is just a taste of how good Franti and Spearhead are performing live to their adoring fans.
