:: 39 Vybes39 VybesAn interesting array of sounds from Stuart Proud and Dr Ziggy continues the prominent climb of underground electronica into a more mainstream position. With collaborative efforts with the popular Groove Armada, this set has an eclectic, inventive manner that should be well received. Check out a couple of highlights like “God Has A Great Sense Of Humour” – with live drums in a rocking format, and “Sometimes Lonely”, that has a beautiful trombone resonating throughout. Other worthy tracks are “Sleepin’ On Your Floor” and hip-hop styled “Ghost Of Fred Astaire”. Female vocals wind through most tracks in a means of establishing some identity. I’m sure that 39 Vybes will experiment further, drifting away from the Groove Armada influence, but the importance of that collaboration shouldn’t be dismissed. |
