59 Times The Pain

59 Times the Pain is another Swedish hard rock band. They’ve been around almost a decade having released their debut single, “Blind Anger and Hate” back in ’94 – since then apparently, they’ve mellowed slightly! If you’re looking for variety you won’t find it here. That isn’t a criticism; it’s worked for AC/DC for nearly 30 years! 59 Times The Pain are no strangers to Australia. Their albums have sold well enough here to warrant three tours of the big brown land. Highlight tunes for me were “Emergency”and the straight-ahead driving riffs of “Rock the City”, “Classaction” and “Calling the Public”. A point of interest on Calling the Public is the back up vocal duties have been taken up by Nikola Sarcevic, who is the lead singer for Millencolin, probably the best known of the Swedish bands – in Australia at least.
