Adam Power

From the outset it is clear that Adam Power’s development as a singer/songwriter has been influenced by the British pop movement of the 60’s. In fact listening to this album you might almost mistake yourself for being in a small county just outside of London on a bleak Sunday afternoon. “More Juice’ is a slow, laid back tune, featuring a string section that brings an endearing sweetness and light. The piano driven tune, ‘The Milklady’ features vocal harmonies echoing the stylings of the Beach Boys interspersed between delicate, vulnerable vocals. It would have been nice to a see Adam Power’s personal mark take greater prominence creating an overall more distinctly unique sound. Nonetheless a nice listen on a lazy day, whether or not you feel you are consuming reconstituted or freshly squeezed.
