Aerosmith

This remarkable band has now released its 13th studio album in a career spanning over thirty years. Certainly, by the first single from it, “Jaded”, you could sense that Steve Tyler and his cohorts hadn’t lost any rock ‘n’ roll edge. That song is a cool pop rock number that many bands would crave for. Attention-grabbing verses and rocking chorus bring us something as good as what they’ve done since their reinvention in the late 1980s. The album starts off with a typical Aerosmith track “Beyond Beautiful”, a 70s type rocker. There is some interesting variations, albeit maybe being cool to a wider audience (Britney Spears wore their T-shirt during the Rock In Rio festival this year!). Check out track 9, “Outta Your Head”, which delves into a Tyler rap, while a country tinge is heard on “Luv Lies”. Tyler provides his now customary power ballad through “Fly Away From Here”, which won’t win the fans over this time, but “Sunshine” does a bit better for him. Overall, being produced by Steve Tyler and Joe Perry, it’s somewhat of a return to the “Pump” in small doses. The electronica aspects are good and Tyler can still belt out a decent rock chorus. These guys aren’t done yet. http://www.aerosmith.com
