Aimee Mann

Her songs are beautiful and she is most recognised for her heart filled song “Save Me” from the Magnolia soundtrack. The fifteen tracks including the video for Save Me are absolutely haunting. Her powerful yet cleverly subtle lyrics fill the listener with emotions of the song and rapport is instantly built. Aimee’s voice is very unusual and ranges from almost the highest register to fall in the next beat to the very lowest and her songs are different. The songs are simple and easy to listen to, yet intoxicating as every song varies in mood. All the songs on this album were written and produced by Aimee and she plays the acoustic guitar as well as the bass on the album. Her music has featured in such films as Jerry Maguire, Cruel Intentions, Sliding Doors and Magnolia. Great songs include “You Do”, “Nothing Is Good Enough”, and “Satellite”, plus the assertive sounding “Ghost World” and the airy “Backfire”. It’s a fine album.
