Having brandished Scotland with their groovy tunes for years Aqua Bassino is a relatively new outfit for me, and pleasantly impressed I am! As the title of the album suggests the album contains many a beats and many a bob's. Akin to the sounds of St Germain, Up, Bustle & Out and Groove Armada, Aqua Bassino encapsulates worldly sounds with the clever use of trumpets, saxophone, keys and a variety of percussive instruments. Almost bordering a world influenced Drum and Bass outfit, Aqua Bassino is the perfect disc for a relaxed afternoon tea, coffee shop atmosphere or chill out room. Utilising the sweet vocals of Nicki King this 11-track album is a must have for those who enjoy a full flavoured, well rounded, soothing audio arrangement.
