Ash

Great to see them back for their latest release. Now established as a fully-fledged quartet, they have matured with their own brand of pop rock that invites listeners into their solid songwriting abilities and a seemingly effortless method of musicianship. The general overview of the album sees a subtle, limitless scope, with very tight musicianship. Above all, Ash remains true to their indie-driven qualities. The album starts with the punk-driven “Walking Barefoot” - a good rollicking song. Other highlights become apparent soon. “Burn Baby Burn” is a hook-laden song of quality. “Shining Light”, the latest single contains terrific melodies and fun-filled vibe while “Candy” – an emotional song of love – has good use of strings for extra variation. Various emotional roller coaster rides throughout the album signal a greater maturity. The closing track shows Ash in true energy-packed rock voice with “World Domination”. Ash has started to make their mark on the music scene. This is their best release to date, and there is much scope for further exploration.
