At Random

This self-released full-length CD provides a snapshot of At Random’s career that began in 1991. Brothers Jon and Andrew Muecke continue to turn their talents to a variety of forms, including soundtracks for short film, documentaries and television. Happily, this release includes some of these soundtrack efforts. Mixing electronic style beats with wailing guitars and spoken word sound bytes on some tracks, while on others creating a more straight-forward distorted rock, At Random seem to have an extensive catalogue of influences that indicate many of the 90s best musical moments. I particularly enjoyed the strong female vocals featured on some tracks, like ‘Don’t Fake It’ (1995).
