:: Here Comes The NightAugie MarchThe moods and subtlety of their album “Sunset Studies” continues to reap the benefit in gaining a particular respect and admiration. This is an example of Augie March delving into their bag of variables. Lead singer Glenn Richards reaches into his upper register in an old British style vocal. He shows his good form. The harmonies and twang-felt guitar fulfils the requirements to make this an astutely charming song. The B-sides carry a couple of live versions of cover songs, including one of Del Shannon’s best hits “Keep Searchin’ (Follow The Sun)” from nearly forty years ago. Their liking for The Church is demonstrated in “Reptile”. The band rounds out the CD with the “Nagambie River Wine Song”. http://www.augie-march.com |
