:: Marbles Made Like LemonadeBaby Jane HudsonIn the style of previous kick-ass female rock and roll, Baby Jane Hudson makes an impressive debut album. Hailing from Texas, and consisting of four girls of diverse musical backgrounds. A strong attitude, with tinges of Garbage and Elastica, brings a favourable outlook of three-part harmonies and fine guitar riffs. “Slither” is a straight-ahead rock number while they show versatility with the acoustic-laden “How Was Your Day?” is poignant and effective. Throughout the CD you’ll also notice dance-friendly songs and upbeat rhythms. The band’s musicianship is lively and sets them apart from being just another all-girl band. They compose good songs with solid structures. The hidden song at the end is a wonderful acoustic flavour to savour. |
