:: VespertineBjorkThe title suits the mood of the album beautifully, to be played at the wind down of a day or used as a lullaby album; most of the songs on Vespertine induce feelings of ease, contentment and dreaminess. The clever use of programmed beats, music box arrangements, harps, clavichords and choirs produce a sound that is typically Bjork, yet explores new ground for her catalogue. Comprising of 12 tracks including the singles “Hidden Place’ and ‘ It’s Not Up To You’, Vespertine is also host to the Poetic’s In My Mouth’ and a music box instrumental ‘Frosti’. Being a peaceful album for peaceful minds, Vespertine has to be listened to at the right time & frame of mind to avoid being boring or monotonous. Overall, a cleverly composed album. |
