“Storybook Life” is one of those highly polished, radio friendly and soulless albums that are frequently released by American bands looking for a quick buck (see Wheatus, etc). You would no doubt have heard the first single off this album, “Hey Leonardo”, a touching song about a guy who can’t believe his girl loves him even though she couldn’t care less about his DVD collection!!! That song is basically repeated many times under different names (actually it’s literally repeated also with a bonus live recording of it and the video on CDROM). There’s nothing on this CD you could class as inspiring; it’s all about bright young things falling in love and being happy (listen to the title track if you have doubts). Storybook Life fits neatly into the ‘colour by numbers’ format that commercial radio and big record companies love. If you like what you’ve from this album previously, buy it cause the rest of the album’s the same.
