This Melbourne band has joined the growing roster of Redline Records and has finally been able to release their debut album. It was recorded and mixed at the Inner Ear Studios in America after a successful sojourn early this year. Their fan base in Australia has been on the rise and these songs should appeal to those and hopefully new fans. Known for their reflective songs, Blueline Medic showcases some good subtle changes throughout, with some driving rocky sounds as well. Examples are the soft and smooth tones of “Sonnambulist” and “At Least We Had The War”. How are they for titles? More funky and rhythmic efforts include “Over The Lawn” and the emotional “Making The Nouveau Riche”. Certainly, the songs are there to provoke some thought, yet they show a feisty rock’n’roll gusto too. Blueline Medic deserves credit for a fine debut album.
