Boomkat

Brother and sister combination, Kellin and Taryn Manning release their debut album. Their leanings are pop with electronic forays. Taryn displays soulful vocal moments and it is pleasing to admire. “Wastin’ My Time” is a good example, but she has an ability to change style into a tougher stance. There are some really good tracks, in particular “Daydreamin’, a lighter but seemingly expansive number, plus “Look At All The People”, more in the keeping of their electronic-pop theme. “The Wreckoning” is an addictive track with excellent lyrics in indie-pop consumption. This album won’t jump out at you, but Boomkat may well spark up with further experience and maturity in songwriting. The CD also has an enhanced component.
