This collection contains intense compositions from the Welsh singer-songwriter. He has forged numerous collaborations with Italian artists and a long association alongside Mike Peters of the Alarm. Brychan has a terrific voice. “Catchaa a Sola” gives us a glimpse of his talent, akin to those familiar with Luka Bloom’s style. The title track is the emotional centrepiece of the album with a wonderful acoustic guitar. There are variations of tension and craft with the instrumentation following an emotional trail in the themes of blues, jazz, Celtic folk and funk. He has done half the album live and the other is studio-recorded. The interesting influences are worth explaining from this durable artist. The songs are sung in both Welsh and English.
